See all related SAP transport task and release specific transport tasks via Jira

To give a realistic view of the current progress of a transport, the SAP Transport Panel shows all related transport task of a transport. The status of those tasks are displayed at any point in time to ensure maximum transparency of your SAP transport management in Jira.

In addition it is sometimes necessary to pretest your own work with a transport of copies on a test environment, which is a core feature of SAP Transport Panel(see: How to add the "Copy and release transport" post function to a Jira workflow). Therefore we implemented a feature to release specific pieces of work. The SAP component of SAP Transport Panel can then be set to only integrate released transport tasks into the transport of copies, which is created trough a Jira transition.

  • Transport tasks can be selected via checkbox in the Transport panel.
  • There are multiple ways to select transport tasks. All linked transport tasks, all transport tasks of a transport or a single transport task can be selected in a hierarchical manner.
  • Via the Release tasks button all selected transport tasks are released in SAP and are therefore not changeable anymore.

  2. Select or deselect all transport tasks via the checkbox in the first column of the related transport.

Remark

  1. Transport tasks in SAP can´t be moved to a different status when they are released. Therefore the checkbox in front of an already Released transport task is not visible anymore.
  2. Depending on the setting in SAP the released tasks are afterwards imported into the transport of copies, which is explained this section: Copy and release a transport in SAP via Jira transition
